DRAUMLIST RAW TALK 2019
DRACORUBIO
Roderique "Dracorubio" Arisiaman is an image creator and storyteller at heart, no matter what the discipline. His work varies from photography, photo manipulation and illustration to ceramics, sculpture and painting. He draws inspiration from various sources, such as books, movies, sculptures, music, mythology, fantasy, history, people, nature and whatever else he finds on his path. He used to work in animation and visual effects but found the moving image too complicated to convey his story. His images are always processed to tell a story and to provoke an emotion. Roderique will show and talk about his work as image creator and editor with Photoshop and will show something of his workflow. |
JAKE HICKS
Jake is a full-time professional photographer who is specialized in bright, bold and highly saturated fashion and edited imagery. Having been a freelance photographer for over a decade, Jake has been fortunate enough to be involved with some very varied and influential clients. They have chosen him to represent their companies image and ideals because his work is always about ensuring a progressive aesthetic to any given campaign, with his results always standing out for the right reasons Being technically very proficient, and with a strong background in the pre-digital era of photography, his ability to capture dynamic visuals ‘in-camera’ without the need to rely on heavy post-production and photo manipulation has always made Jake far more adaptable on shoot day. It is for this reason that he has been the preferred choice for those clients who want to remain part of the creative process from start to finish. That being said, when the need arises and a job requires efficiency and trust to ensure a shoot can be turned around quickly, being extremely proficient in all modern imaging software is a must, enabling Jake to remain dynamic and flexible to any last minute changes. Jake will be doing a demonstration with a model on stage of Gelled Lighting Photography and talks about what and how he works and creating his images. |
NICO BRONS
Nico Brons is an professional photographer. He graduated in 2013 at the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam with his specialty iPhone photography. Since then, he has been active as a freelance photographer, and he also provides training and workshops in various photographic areas. 'With my iPhone I can make the images that are in my head', Nico says. Nico has become known with smartphone photography. He profiles himself with this form of photography, but at the same time the label of 'Smartphone Photographer' is a bit disappointing. 'People need labels, but thinking about rules sometimes hinders me. With the things I make it's about inspiration, nothing has to be done and everything is allowed, it's about the pleasure of shooting, not so much about the smartphone. ' If Nico takes his smartphone, he does not think about technology. The smartphone represents freedom for him. He can do what he wants and he is not attached to large screens and software for editing the photo. 'But that is different for every photographer. The choice for the device is between the ears'. The first free works he created were simply made with his SLR camera and edited on the computer. Later with the smartphone. According to Nico Brons, it does not matter how something is made. It's about the result, it's about what you want to show. He uses his iPhone, someone else uses paint, a musical instrument or Photoshop. "He does not call himself an artist, but he is. The sculptures that he makes are works of art, the work that he lets go of in the photographs provides depth. What he does is more than just a filter, the images are made up of different layers. Nico says: "My inspiration is in my head, I have enough images that still have to be removed." Nico will talk about his work as smartphone photographer and will show some examples of how he edit on his phone |
